About
Simmons...
Welcome to the wonderful world of Miss Lisa's Priority Preschool classroom!
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from NAU in 1986 with a dual major in special education and early childhood education; I have taught special education for the past 26 years in Irving, Texas, Peoria, Mesa, and now Chandler. I have worked as a self-contained teacher as well as an itinerant (traveling) teacher. It is my dream to spend the final 8-10 years of my career enjoying educational adventures with young children in Room 10 at Shumway Leadership Academy.
My Educational Philosophy
A warm smile, kind eyes, and a gentle touch communicates more than any words that might come out of my mouth. It is my job to inspire children to love school and the process of learning. Creating a safe and nurturing environment is important to me as we will soon become a classroom family .
