About Mr. Jaron Foy...
Position: 4th Grade
Greetings and welcome to our classroom! I'm Jaron Foy, your teacher for the school year. I'm excited about the opportunity to work collaboratively with your student and create a positive learning environment. I look forward to getting to know each student better as we embark on this educational journey together.
My Education and Professional Background
I hail from a small town in northern Utah, growing up on our family dairy farm. Throughout my life, I've also resided in Japan and Oregon before finally settling in Arizona in 2008. I earned my B.S. in Psychology from the University of Phoenix in 2010, followed by an M.B.A. in 2013. Initially, I worked in the corporate sector, focusing on designing user education related to technology.
In 2015, I underwent a career transition into teaching. I earned my M.Ed. in Elementary Education from Arizona State University (Go Sun Devils!) in 2016. My journey in education started with completing my student teaching at Knox Gifted Academy and teaching gifted 4th & 5th grade at Jacobson Elementary. I have been at Weinberg since it's inception as a gifted academy.
Outside of the classroom, I cherish spending quality time with my wife (married in 2009), son (born in 2012), and daughter (born in 2015). May the Force be with you, and this is the way!
My Educational Philosophy
My educational philosophy is rooted in my aspiration to be the kind of teacher I would have admired. I firmly believe that learning should be a lifelong pursuit in all facets of life. The most effective learning occurs when individuals feel encouraged to take risks and explore uncharted territory.
In my experience, students thrive when faced with high expectations, clearly defined objectives, and a strong sense of community. To cater to the diverse learning styles of each student, I strive to incorporate a range of strategies and unique methods that align with their individual ways of processing and retaining information.
