Welcome to Willis
Although we are facing challenging circumstances, we are excited to welcome you to a new year of learning at Willis Junior High School. We are glad you are joining our school family and we look forward to working with you online (through Google Classroom) and eventually in-person on our campus.
Due to the current pandemic, we are unable to offer an in-person Firebird Day experience, but this page will help you begin to acclimate to Willis and the junior high school experience. As you might imagine, every day has presented new challenges and changes. Due to recent changes in enrollment and staffing, we are still working to finalize our student schedules. Schedules will be available, no later than Monday, August 3 on the Infinite Campus Student and Parent Portal. If they are finalized sooner, we will let you know.Introduction From Mr. Delp
Virtual Firebird Day Presentation
The following presentation provides critical information for students and parents as they begin the school year. Please review this carefully. When we begin virtual learning on August 5, classroom teachers will emphasis critical information and be available to answer questions and support students. Prior to our return to in-person learning, we will distribute additional information related to on-campus instruction.

Checklist
Before you leave (or begin school on Wednesday, August 5) please make sure you have completed the following tasks.
- View/print your student schedule in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal (available Monday, August 3)
- Update your student’s Emergency Contact Information (in Infinite Campus)
- Sign the Virtual Learning Consent Form
- Students should review and acknowledge the Willis Core Values Statement (the Willis Core values are available for review HERE)
- Acknowledge receipt of the Student Handbook
- Complete the Free and Reduced Lunch Application (we encourage ALL parents to do this)
- Sign-up to receive Remind messages from Willis (in English or Spanish)
- Follow Willis on our social media accounts (details in the presentations)
Willis Distance Learning and On-Campus Technology Access

On-Campus Technology Access
During campus closure, our goal is to ensure that all of our students have access to technology and the internet. We will be working to distribute devices and hotspots, but anticipate there may be more need than we are able to accommodate. In an effort to address this issue, we will be opening our campus computer labs (by appointment) for students to use a computer and/or internet for 1.5 - 2.0 hours each day. THIS IS CURRENTLY ONLY AVAILABLE FROM AUGUST 5 THROUGH AUGUST 14 (at which time we will reassess need). During this time, students will be socially distanced and required to wear a mask. Thorough sanitization will occur between each session. If your family does not have technology/internet access, and you would like your student to participate, please complete this survey. If you have more than one student at Willis, you only need to complete the form once.
