Hello and Welcome. My name is Stuart Telford and I am thrilled to be your 4th grade teacher this year! I am originally from the United Kingdom but moved to Arizona in 2006 to marry my wonderful wife, Dana. I live in Queen Creek with Dana and together we have 2 amazing children, Jack and Millie. In my spare time I love to be with my family and explore the world. We have been lucky enough to visit many wonderful places in Europe, The Middle East, Asia and Australia.
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from The University of Northampton in the UK with a bachelor's degree in Geography and received my degree in Elementary Education from The University of Sussex in 2003. I have two master's degrees from Northern Arizona University, one in Curriculum and Instruction and the other in Educational Leadership. I began my career with CUSD in 2007 where I worked at Fulton Elementary. Since 2013 I have been a vice principal and 4th grade teacher in the United Arab Emirates.
My Educational Philosophy
As a teacher I have a love of learning which I hope I can instill to my students and watch them grow to their full potential. I believe in motivating children to take risks and work at high levels. This is done in an encouraging, safe, fair, and fun environment in which students are truly part of the school learning community. An important theme of our classroom is respect. I am extremely confident that this will be a wonderful yet challenging year for your children. I am so excited to be a part of their learning journey!
