Mr. Jones has also served as the Director of Bands in the Maple Heights City School District (OH), teaching grades 5-12. In addition to his anticipated Doctorate of Musical Arts in Wind Conducting from ASU, he holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Akron and a Master of Music in Wind Conducting from Kent State University. His research interests include Diversity within Wind Band Conducting and Repertoire.
My Educational Philosophy
Every student in the Casteel band program will strive every day to become a better musician. Emphasis is placed on community building and being a part of something that is bigger than one individual person. The hope is to create a lifelong relationship with music appreciation regardless of the path students choose after their time at Casteel.
