I look forward to helping all of you learn more about the French language and culture, develop your French skills, and have a successful year. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions. My Education and Professional Background
I have a Masters in French Literature from Purdue University and a Masters in French Translation from ASU. I have worked as a French instructor and taught several levels of French - beginners, intermediate, and advanced (FRE 101,102, 111, 201, 202, 305) - at Arizona State University and at Mesa Community College. As a translator, I have worked with the French:English language pair and have translated scholarly articles for ASU and the Oxford Dictionary of the Middle Ages.
My Educational Philosophy
I encourage real learning in the classroom where students are actively engaged in the learning process. It is important that the foreign language classroom is a place where all students feel comfortable and safe to practice their language skills, make mistakes, and learn through the same. I hope that all students have fun and enjoy learning French, knowing that foreign language skills provide innumerable benefits, but most of all create invaluable connections with people and cultures.
