    Welcome!

    Welcome to Santan and 8th grade Social Studies! My name is Bailey Halstrom and I'm very excited to be your child's teacher this year. This year will be filled with new opportunities to grow and learn while exploring history in our world. If at any time you need any help this school year, please feel free to contact me!

    My Education and Professional Background

    I moved to Arizona in 2017 from Minnesota. I graduated from Winona State University with a degree in Elementary Education. I also achieved my approved area in Middle Level Social Studies. I started in the Chandler Unified School District as a long-term substitute and moved right into teaching 4th grade at CTA Goodman. I spent 3 years at CTA Goodman and loved every minute of it. I am now teaching 8th grade Social Studies at Santan Junior High, while getting my Masters from UW- Eau Claire.

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe that a classroom should be a safe, caring community where children are free to speak their mind, explore, and grow. My role as the teacher will be to assist each child in developing their own potential and learning styles. I hope through teaching social studies that I can help students find their own voice and opinion to think critically, accept others, and build confidence in themselves.
