About
Baxter...
Welcome to the 21-22 school year! My name is Chalene Baxter and I am extremely excited to join the Andersen family and community. This is my twenty-seventh year in education and in CUSD. I have loved moment of every day!
My Education and Professional Background
I was born in Arizona but spent most of my childhood in Spring, Texas. I moved back to Arizona when I was fifteen years old and have been here since. I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor dual degree in Elementary and Special Education. I have two master’s degrees in Elementary Curriculum and Special Education. Currently, I am working on a Doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership through Northern Arizona University. As you can tell, I love to learn! I have twenty-three years of experience teaching grades 1st - 4th and special education Kindergarten - 6th grade. Also, I have been an academic coach for four years. Andersen is a unique and exceptional place that I am extremely excited to be a part of.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe every student is unique, wants to learn and is capable to learn. I am fully committed to cultivating a love of learning while using the strengths that every student brings to school. I am here to ensure every student feels safe, loved, and accepted. I believe families are an essential part of the learning process, so I am here to support and work with you to achieve the common goal of student success. Together, we are going to make this year an AMAZING year!
