Welcome to our Band website! We pride ourselves at Galveston for being curious, collaborative, and forward looking. These characteristics extend through our band program, too. Our door is always open for opportunities that are meaningful and relevant to you so we hope to work with your soon.
My Education and Professional Background
I have been an educator for 17+ years at all grade levels and all performing arts areas. It is my passion to be a relevant and personable educator that has the flexibility to work with all students in class, as well as provide meaningful musical experiences to our community. My Bachelors Degree in Music Education is from Arizona State (#GoDevils), Masters in Education from Auburn University (#WarEagle), and I am a couple years away from completing my PhD in Music Education from ASU.
My Educational Philosophy
I truly believe that I do not teach music to students, but I teach students through music. This mindset allows for flexibility and imagination in my classroom, remembering that our goal is to encourage the whole child to grow to their potential.
