    Welcome!

    Welcome to Andersen Junior High! My name is Mr. Kollmorgen and I am the Director of Bands for both AJHS and Andersen Elementary. I also teach Beginning Guitar in the afternoons. I look forward to an amazing year together of growing as both musicians and a community.

    My Education and Professional Background

    Mr. Kollmorgen has his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Arizona State University. Forks up! Prior to landing at AJHS, he was a traveling general music teacher in CUSD for 2 years, as well as, a staff member of the Perry High School Puma Regiment Marching Band. Outside of school, he is a trumpet player and private lesson instructor for brass instruments. 

    My Educational Philosophy

    Music Education is much more than reading notes on the page or playing an instrument. It is cultivating growth in yourself and the community through a challenging and diverse medium. Music helps our students to grow intellectually and emotionally as the individual, and open pathways to social understanding as a community and band family.
