My Educational Philosophy

As an educator in the fine arts, and a teacher in general, students will be welcomed into what is not only a classroom, but a nurturing, loving, accepting, and creative environment. A place where they will be inspired, be creatively challenged, and artiscally grow. All students, in and out of the class, will be accepted for who they are, be in a cultural safe space, and be willing to explore their creativity and express themselves in different forms of art and education.
Designing a classroom area that is set for student success, and innovation, is equipped with art literature, visual arts, a variety of two and three dimensional art, along with calming audio for studio time. Providing a flourishing atmosphere for the students, shows growth in both personality and in their work. But it begins in acceptance of a child for who they are, how they learn, and caring for them. This provides a healthy and scholarly relationship between the student, teacher, parents/ guardians and peers in and out of the classroom. It allows them to develop as a student artist who is seeking to acquire knowledge of the enriched content the teacher is providing. As well as, independently express themselves through their art with the mild guidance of the teacher. With the trust of the teacher the student will have, an instructor that will always be guiding the students to success and safety with the appropriate resources the school provides, parents or guardians communication, and community involvement.
Art introduces children to a diverse form of different mediums that range from visual, two- three dimensional, literature and performing arts. Hence, students will be learning all mediums through the history of art and S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics). Then, creating their own artworks and exhibiting it to their fellow peers, teachers, community, and family members as they all come together and view the glorious, educational artworks the students have designed.
