    I am looking forward to spending the year with your son/daughter as we embark on our journey here at Shumway.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I am a proud graduate of North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina.

    I returned to school after being a volunteer for Disney, teaching an educational program for 3rd graders. I attended Florida Southern College and the University of South Florida to obtain my teaching credential in Elementary Education.

    I have 26 years of experience in the state of Florida, where I have taught grades 3 through 6 over that span of time. 

    My Educational Philosophy

    My philosophy is that education is the key that opens the door to
    endless possibilities, and that through inquiry-based, student-centric instruction and collaboration students can learn, grow, and succeed.
