    Hello! My name is Margie Armendariz and it is my honor to be the Librarian here at Shumway Leadership Academy!

    My Education and Professional Background

    I am an Arizona native and have proudly been serving students in CUSD since 2019. I am excited to be starting my 3rd year at Shumway Leadership Academy and to share my love of reading with you.

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe that the Library is the heart of a school. My goal is to have a warm and welcoming environment were students feel safe and loved. Every child is unique, loveable and capable of success. Our Library vision is to help all students grow their love for reading and become life-long readers. I want my students to look forward to coming into the library and exploring all of the amazing books we have.
