Welcome!
Dear Parents,
I am so excited to have your child in my class this year. I have many exciting things planned already and I am looking forward to working with you to make this a very successful year for your child. I feel that a close relationship between the parents, teacher, and child is extremely important to the student’s progress, so I am taking this opportunity to tell you about my personal and educational experiences.
I was born and raised in Granger, Indiana for the first 21 years of my life. At age 7, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and it has helped shape me into the person that I am today. My family moved to Peoria, Arizona at the end of February 2019, and I have lived in the valley ever since.
I began my educational journey during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic at Arizona State University. I felt that as I was adjusting to an online learning environment, the pandemic has strengthened my digital literacy over time.
Although this is my first year teaching in public education, I feel I bring with me a wealth of knowledge and experience. I believe that hands-on education is one of the best ways to teach the skills that your child will need to succeed.
I am very proud to have been chosen as your child’s teacher. I feel that a teacher is a positive role model who becomes a major influence to every student who enters the classroom. I aspire to create a learning environment that has my students feel safe about sharing their ideas and questioning why the world works in the way it does. I believe that learning is a process that involves taking risks, making mistakes, and being confident in your abilities as a scholar. Providing my students with a warm, safe, and friendly environment is essential to their success.
I know that we are going to have a great year. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Mr. Michael KatuzienskiMy Education and Professional Background
Bachelors in Elementary Education from Arizona State University.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that school needs to be a place where students can feel safe to try new things and explore the world around them. Everyone is different and therefore everyone is not going to learn in the same way. Learning is a process that involves taking risks, making mistakes, and being confident in your abilities as a scholar.
Any child has the possibility to become what they want to be as long as they have the knowledge and passion to achieve their dreams. It takes a special person to help them realize that their dreams can become a reality if they are willing to do what it takes to succeed. I know that I can help make a difference in a child’s life by helping them unlock their potential as an individual.
My ultimate goal as a teacher is to provide high quality education for my students. I aspire to create a learning environment that has my students feel safe about sharing their ideas and questioning why the world works in the way it does. It is essential that teachers, parents, and the school community work together to make a collaborative learning experience for our students. I strive to leave a lasting impression on my students: that I was a kind and passionate teacher.Click to Report a Website Problem
