Welcome!
Hello, I'm Mrs. Bobko.
I was born and raised in Connecticut but moved to Arizona in 2010.
I am excited to be a part of Casteel High School where the staff works together to build and encourage Courage, Character, and Commitment. I can't wait to get to know each of my students and to provide meaningful math experiences that will help each one to achieve success. My Education and Professional Background
I earned my BA degree from Colgate University in 2002.
I am currently in my second year at ASU working towards my MEd in Secondary Education - Mathematics. I previously taught in the Gilbert School District, but I am very excited to be joining the Chandler Unified School District, as my kids have had such an amazing academic journey here that I am thrilled to be able to give back and join such a student-focused organization. I am looking forward to being a part of this amazing Casteel Family.
My Educational Philosophy
I am working to build a Thinking Classroom. I believe that math is a subject that should be enjoyed through participating in math experiences where meaningful learning takes place. Although some parts of math must be memorized, most of our math learning comes from exploring math concepts so that we gain a deeper conceptual understanding of what we are doing and of why the traditional algorithms work. Math is not just a subject, but a way of thinking and problem-solving. It's important to help students connect what we learn in math to the useful real-life applications of the concepts.
I believe that everyone is capable of achieving in math if they maintain a Growth Mindset.Click to Report a Website Problem
