My Education and Professional Background
In Taiwan, I received formal training in Taiwan Taipei Teacher's Collage as an elementary school teacher and taught public primary school children for seven years. I also earned a bachelor degree in Home Economics in Taiwan Chinese Culture University. After moving to the US, I was involved in weekend Chinese community schools teaching Chinese Mandarin and culture to Chinese heritage students and English adults for fifteen years. In May 2002, I completed a Master degree of Curriculum and Instruction. I was born in Taiwan and moved to USA thirty five years ago. I am a native speaker of Mandarin as well as other Chinese dialects such as Cantonese ,Taiwanese, and Hakka. I am also fluent in English. I am also certified to teach Dual enrollment courses from Honor Chinese 3 and above as AP level Chinese, in which students can earn college-level credits.
My Educational Philosophy
Languages are the essential key to open the door to the world. The more we know about the world, the more choices we have! To cultivate a fascinating, productive and inspiring process of learning the Chinese language and understanding Chinese culture.
