|Position:||AP Human Geography and Economics|
I am very happy to be teaching AP Human Geography here at Hamilton High School. Geography is my passion. I love to travel and explore different places in the world. It is my mission to pass that enthusiasm on to my students.
My Education and Professional Background
I hold a Bachelors degree in Secondary Education and a Masters in Geography. In addition to teaching, each summer I travel to Cincinnati to read and score the AP Geography exam Free Response Questions. This gives me some insight into how they are scored, so that I can bring that information back to my students to help them succeed.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that it is critical to not only be a citizen of ones country, but also a citizen of the world. It is critical to gain knowledge on not only cultures in our world, but also global processes, such as economics, agriculture, and Industry. Learning about these global processes gives students an advantage that they will need in today's world. I also believe that taking AP courses gives students an advantage as they seek out higher education opportunities. Students who take the appropriate amount of AP courses while in high school, can enter into college, with an entire of college complete. There is no doubt that AP courses are challenging. But, we are very proud to say that Hamilton High School AP Human Geography students' scores are ranked in the top 10 percent in the nation.
