|"Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood."|

Welcome to Hancock Priority Preschool! I am very excited to be your child's teacher this year!! I am looking forward to providing the best preschool experience for your child. In the classroom, I go by Miss Elsie, not Mrs. Niklason.
My Education and Professional Background
I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood and Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Northern Iowa in 1994. I earned my Master's Degree in Special Education from Northern Arizona University in 1999. My first year teaching was in 1995. I taught 4 years in the Coolidge District before I moved to Chandler in 1999, where I have been ever since.
My Educational Philosophy
Little ones are my passion, and I thrive on seeing the growth from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. I believe that a strong partnership between home and school is vital to provide the best education for your child. I believe in the power of early intervention, and work with the therapists in my classroom to figure out how best your child learns. And most importantly, we have fun while we learn and grow!
