About
Perham...
My name is Kristin Perham and I am excited to start another great year teaching at Navarrete. I am proud to be a Nighthawk. Navarrete is a great school with dedicated staff, enthusiastic students, and supportive parents. I have worked here since it opened in 2004. Teaching children is my second career and my passion. A little bit about me: I live nearby with my husband, son, and all of our many critters. In my spare time I read, watch movies, ride horses, and spend time with family and friends.
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from Ottawa University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. After graduating college, I worked in the field of Human Resources – training and development. In 2001, I decided to go back to school and make a career change. I wanted to work in a career field where I could make a difference. I graduated in 2003 from The University of Phoenix with a Master’s of Arts in Elementary Education. Since August 2003, I have been teaching, both first and second grade.
My Educational Philosophy
It is my goal to provide a safe and nurturing environment where a child’s uniqueness is valued and respected. I strive to empower students to become positive, independent, lifelong learners, and critical thinkers by providing them with real world and interesting opportunities to learn.
