Welcome to Mrs. Diane Redman's Math class. I have been teaching math and Honor's math at AJHS since 2005. I enjoy working with junior high students because of their curious nature and individuality. They are such a group of unique individuals. As I enlighten and teach them, they also enlighten and teach me. I will always challenge their brains and help them to believe that they can do anything they put their minds to. There is never a dull moment when teaching math at the junior high level
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education (K-8) and have been teaching in the field of education since 1985. In my teaching career I have taught various grades for many years at the elementary school level. Through the years, I became highly qualified in math which has allowed me to teach math at the junior high since 2005.
My Educational Philosophy
Junior high is the stepping stone to high school. I believe preparing students to be independent thinkers and workers is the key to a successful high school career. Although math is not easy for all students, I feel a variety show of teaching methods is required to stimulate and encourage students to enjoy math. I want them to build confidence and a strong self-esteem which will help them to exceed in their studies and enhance their learning process. Helping them to develop into responsible and
