"It may seem unfashionable to say so, but historians should seize the imagination as well as the intellect. History is, in a sense, a story, a narrative of adventure and of vision, of character and of incident. It is also a portrait of the great general drama of the human spirit."
-- Peter Ackroyd

Welcome to my AJHS teacher website. I teach 7th Grade Social Studies. I am the Community Service Coordinator for the School.

My Education and Professional Background

I graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. I graduated from the University of Phoenix in May 2006 with a Master's in Secondary Education. I am currently teaching my twelfth year at Andersen Junior High School.

My Educational Philosophy

I believe in great character at the heart of everything I do and teach. I love teaching students about Geography, American History, Civics, Economics, Current Events and Arizona History and connecting it to students' lives. I strive to always be a positive influence, create a safe and creative classroom, and engage students in their learning.

The Choice is Yours!  Why Choose AJHS?

I was told before I started student teaching that Chandler was one of the best districts in the state and they treat their teachers well. When I called the district office in 2006 to ask their recommendation for placement for my student teaching they didn't hesitate to say Andersen Junior High School. Andersen mentored me in my first few years of teaching and has always given me multiple opportunities to grow and be the best teacher possible.
