|Position:||Project Lead The Way|
Project Lead the Way (PLTW) prepares students to be the most innovative and productive leaders in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and to make meaningful, pioneering contributions to our world. Through an engaging, hands-on curriculum, PLTW encourages the development of problem-solving skills, critical thinking, creative and innovative reasoning, and a love of learning.
My Education and Professional Background
Go Lobos!!! I moved to Arizona in 2001 after graduating from University of New Mexico. In 2009, I completed my master's degree at NAU. Teaching is a passion of mine, and I have enjoyed working in many different grade levels and subjects throughout my career. I was lucky to join Santan and the 7/8 A team as a science teacher in 2009. I started a robotics elective and club in 2011 and PLTW in 2014.
My Educational Philosophy
STEM education is at the heart of today's high-tech, high-skill global economy. For America to remain economically competitive, our next generation of leaders must develop the critical-reasoning and problem solving skills that will help make them the most productive in the world. PLTW sparks the ingenuity, creativity, and innovation within all of our students.
