"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world.  Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."
~Margaret Mead
We are excited to offer a new opportunity for both 7th and 8th grade students to be involved on our campus and make a difference in our community.  The Willis Student Ambassadors will serve as representatives of our campus at school related functions--greeting visitors and contributing to the positive image of our school.
Responsibilites--among other things--will include:
  • Greeting and directing visitors at athletic events and school functions
  • Greeting and escorting visiting schools when they arrive for athletic events
  • Developing leadership skills and demonstrating positive leadership on our campus
  • Leading and participating in community service projects that benefit our local community
  • Providing assistance to students who are new to Willis
  • Visiting elementary schools to talk about the Willis experience
A few of the benefits of participating in the Willis Student Ambassadors club:
  • Opportunity to take on a positive leadership role on the Willis campus
  • Earn community service hours for participation
  • Make a difference on campus and in the community
  • Participate in club socials and activities where you will get to hang out with other kids who are interested in being "connected" at school
  • Food, fun and a WJHS Ambassador shirt
Students who would like to participate should:
  • Be reasonably comfortable interacting with others
  • Have the ability to work well with others -- value the diversity on our campus
  • Remain in good academic standing - C's or better in all classes
  • Exemplify good decison making on campus - no behavioral issues
  • Be available to meet or conduct community service after school hours - there may be times you will need to arrange for your own ride
