About
Zeig...
Thank you for stopping by. I love anything Disney, especially Minnie Mouse. This year, I have decorated my classroom to reflect my love of Disney. I have a passion for teaching Kindergarten and look forward to helping children learn through exploration and play as well as traditional methods of teaching.
My Education and Professional Background
I am an ASU graduate. I received my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University in May of 2003. My first job I after graduation in July of 2003 was teaching Kindergarten at Laveen Elementary with the Laveen Elementary School District. While working in Laveen I attended NAU to pursue a master’s degree in Bilingual and Multicultural Education with an endorsement in English as a Second language. I graduated from Northern Arizona University in December 2006. After receiving my master’s degree, I began working for the Apache Junction Unified School District as an English language teacher. During my time in Apache Junction, I also taught Kindergarten and early kindergarten. I was employed with Apache Junction for five years. In July of 2012 I started working for the Chandler Unified School District as a Kindergarten teacher.
My Educational Philosophy
Every child is a unique, complex learner. A child is a social being who learns through the development of relationships with peers and adults. Every child is entitled to learning environments that support optimal development of the whole child; is entitled to opportunities to learn through active exploration. Every child learns through child-initiated, child-directed, teacher-supported play.
