About
Fortune...
Welcome to Ms. Fortune's website for Chemistry and AP Chemistry.
My Education and Professional Background
I received my bachelor’s degree from Yale University and my MNS in Physics from Arizona State University. This is my ninth year at Perry High School. In 2003, I began teaching Chemistry and Physics at Fountain Hills High School. I am enthusiastic about science education and helping students become scientifically literate as they build a solid foundation for their future studies. I grew up in Seattle, Washington. After college, I worked in the biotech and pharmaceutical, and computer industries in Seattle, Chicago, and Arizona. I love watching Chicago Bears football and caring for my dogs.
My Educational Philosophy
As an educator, I believe that much of my role is to provide resources and guide students to better understanding of course concepts. Students must be active participants in their education and fully engaged in learning activities. I have high expectations for students and strive to be fair and welcoming to all students.
