Connect With Us

Welcome! Several decades ago, I began my teaching career, teaching teens the life skills of close reading, strong communication (verbal & written), critical thinking, and mindful living at all levels Language Arts classes from remedial to Advanced Placement, 9th through 12th grade. Although helping to prepare the next generation to lead us to a better world is my passion and main calling in life, I do enjoy living a healthy & happy life, protecting the earth and the animals, especially my dogs.

My Education and Professional Background

Bachelor of Arts in English with Honors (California State University, Chico), Masters of Education in Literacy Curriculum and Instruction (University of Missouri, Columbia), Education Specialist/Doctor of Education in Literacy Curriculum (North Central University). I have taught in California and Arizona, and have been dual enrollment teacher, level lead, department chair, curriculum director, and an AP Reader for the AP Language exam & Seminar exams.

My Educational Philosophy

All people have the capability within them to learn; however, most people need the assistance and reassurance to recognize, enhance, and establish their own abilities. I seek to provide that inspiration and influence by creating a positive, understanding, nurturing, yet rigorous environment in which adolescents can flourish. I am looking forward to a strong working relationship with the parents and students of ACP-E. Let's have a great year!
