|"Devoted teachers like you accomplish so much in the lives they guide, and the hearts they touch. They inspire in young minds the love of learning, keep the wheels of curiosity turning, and by educating in their caring way, pave the path to a better world someday."|
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our school. Every day when students walk through the doors of Haley Elementary, they are entering an environment rich in tradition, set up for success and support and filled with opportunities for students to excel so they can be their personal best. Haley Elementary is a place where students love to learn and grow together!
My Education and Professional Background
In 1981 I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from ASU with a K-8 and Special Education certification. In 2000 I received a Master of Arts in Education from Northern Arizona University in Educational Leadership. I began my teaching career in the Kyrene School District where I spent 20 years in the classroom teaching Kindergarten through 6th grade. I began my journey in administration in 2001-2004 when I served as Assistant Principal and Literacy Specialist at Kyrene de los Lagos school. In 2005-2008, I served as Principal of a K-8 school in the Higley Unified School District. This year will begin my 8th year as Principal of Haley Elementary School.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that every child is a unique individual who requires a caring, safe, and challenging learning environment where they can grow socially, emotionally and academically. It is my obligation as school Principal to foster a school learning environment rich in meaningful learning experiences. Our school will also provide a safe, caring environment where each child can blossom and grow. The Haley staff works hard to teach children to become responsible for themselves as well as their own learning. We do our best to provide the necessary tools for children to be successful in life, to believe in themselves, and to collaborate with others.
