I am very excited about all the new things we will be learning in fourth grade this year! Here is a little about me: I am originally from Illinois, but have lived in Arizona since 2013. I live in Chandler with my husband and two children. We have a daughter, Cameryn, and a son, Carter. When I am not at school, I love to watch both my children play soccer. I also like to swim, hike, and spend time with my family.
My Education and Professional Background
My undergraduate degree is in Economics from Northern Illinois University. I was in the banking field for many years before going back to school to do what I truly love, which is teach. I earned my Masters in Elementary Education from Rockford College in 2001. I have been teaching at Navarrete since 2013.
My Educational Philosophy
Every child has a unique learning style. It is my job to help students discover and grow using that style. I believe that reading helps children develop a life-long love of learning, and that they should read and be read to every day. My classroom environment is loving, nurturing, and promotes respect, kindness, and community amongst all students.
