Welcome, my name is Steven Erwin and I am an Honors Algebra 2 teacher at Basha High School. I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable summer and are excited for the start of a new school year. My goal as your teacher is to provide you with learning experiences and challenges that will help prepare you for the future.

My Education and Professional Background

I received my BA degree in Secondary Education/Mathematics at Wayne State College, in Wayne, Nebraska and my MA degree in Educational Leadership at Northern Arizona University. This will be my fifth year at Basha High School and 37th year overall as a teacher. I previously taught for two years at Wisner-Pilger in Nebraska, three years at Gilbert Jr. High, six years at Gilbert High School and 21 years at Highland High School in Gilbert, Arizona. I have also coached football, boys and girls basketball, girls volleyball and softball, baseball and golf.

My Educational Philosophy

My educational philosophy is to prepare our young people to become a productive part of society. I believe as teachers we need to help teach our students to become critical thinkers and to persevere during difficult times.
