|"Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do."|
|-- John Wooden|
Welcome Casteel HS students, parents, and friends. I am excited to begin a new school year. This is my fourth year teaching at Casteel HS, and I am so excited to call CCHS my home. I am a proud husband to an amazing wife Tiffany, and father to two boys, Maximus and Titus. Prior to teaching I was a combat infantryman in the 10th Mountain Division and deployed to Iraq for 12 months. I love sports and I am excited to be the Varsity Assistant Coach for the Boys Basketball program. Go Colts!
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. I love to read and write and want to share that with my students. I want everyone to see the importance of becoming a quality writer. Here at Casteel HS, I will place a strong emphasis on students becoming an avid readers, as well as achieving quality writing.
My Educational Philosophy
My educational philosophy is that each student should be challenged in all aspects of learning so that students will become well-rounded individuals. Reading and writing are key to what happens in a language arts classroom, but students will be challenged to work alone, in pairs, and larger groups. Students should learn how to present information in a professional way, so presentations, speeches, and conversational skills must be developed.
