Welcome to San Marcos! I am thrilled to be the academic coach this year. I love getting into each classroom and watching the amazing learning that is taking place at every grade level. My try to help teachers in any way I can, so they can help students to become the best versions of themselves.
My Education and Professional Background
I am a proud alumni of Chandler Unified Schools and graduated high school from Chandler High. (Go Wolves!!) From there I went on to earn a Liberal Studies degree from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, CA along with my California teaching credential. After graduating I taught fourth grade for six years in Mesa. While there, I earned a masters degree in Educational Psychology Human Relations from Northern Arizona University. I started at San Marcos in 2012 teaching fifth grade. I am now in my first year as an academic coach and loving it!
My Educational Philosophy
The classroom is a place to learn, to laugh, and to grow. It is a place to take risks, to make mistakes, and to make new discoveries. I believe each child has a special role to fill in the world that no one else can fill. My goal is help them discover what that incredible role is.
