Welcome to Mrs. D’s Special Education Room! We are going to have a FANTASTIC year at Auxier! A little about me: I was born and raised in Southern California and moved to Arizona in 2006! My husband and I have 2 boys - Jax and Luke. When I’m not at school I love to play with my boys, cook, run, travel, and watch sports.
My Education and Professional Background
I received my bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Denver and went on to receive my teaching certification in Special Education from Cal State University-Fullerton. After completing this, I taught for five years in an autism program in California. I have now been teaching resource in Chandler Unified for 9 years. While in Chandler, I have earned my Early Childhood Education and Structured English Immersion endorsements. I am Wilson Level 1 and Group Certified and also a district trainer for both the Wilson Just Words Program and Wilson Fundations Programs.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that every student is unique and learns differently. Each student has special talents and it is my job to discover those talents and bring them to life. As a teacher, it is my goal to make each child feel loved, valued and capable of success.
