About
Stermer...
Hello! I am excited to continue to build culture and tradition here at Casteel High alongside my students. I am a product of Chandler Unified School District, and grew up here in Chandler. I'm always willing to discuss a good book, movie, or show, and share stories of the many adventures to be had here in our desert. Let's make it a great year!
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from Hamilton High School and immediately attended Arizona State University, where I received a degree in Secondary Education, and a degree in English Literature. I have seven years of teaching experience, all here in Chandler.
My Educational Philosophy
Students must be allowed to think critically and creatively, without being punished for taking risks. Further, self-advocacy and reflection should be celebrated. I believe that independent reading is infinitely valuable, and that the students' personal reads have a place alongside the classroom texts. Every student is an individual, and their teacher needs to recognize their own personal needs to help them obtain growth and achievement.
