My Educational Philosophy

I Believe... 1. All students can learn and should have opportunity to learn, grow, and make progress. 2. Students learn best through engaging, hands-on learning experiences. 3. Students should be reading, writing, and counting everyday. 4. Students learn better in a supportive environment where they give and receive respect and honesty. 5. Learning and the love of learning is an on-going process that is built-upon each day. 6. Learning does not only occur at school; it needs to be supported at home. 7. All students need to be met and worked with on their individual level. 8. Praise, Encouragement, and Routines are all VERY powerful! 9. Children need to have natural consequences for their choices. 10. Children can be taught to have great social skills and should be taught how to solve their own problems in an appropriate manner.

Welcome to 4th Grade! My name is Miss Oliden. I, myself, grew up going to school in the Chandler Unified School District so I am very excited to teach here at Hartford where I can show my Chandler pride. One of my favorite things to do is discover new places and cultures. I believe that each student is unique in their own way, and that is something that should be celebrated in our classroom. I hope you're ready for an exciting year filled with memorable learning experiences!

My Education and Professional Background

I recently graduated from Northern Arizona University with my Bachelors in Elementary Education. While attending school at a satellite campus here in Chandler, I had the opportunity to complete several internships within the Chandler Unified School District. My Educational Philosophy

As a committed teacher, it is my goal to supply effective learning opportunities to each and every one of my students. It is important that students are provided a hands-on learning environment that allows them to make connections with what is taught to the outside world. I am dedicated to making lessons that are appropriate to each student's different learning style. I will be devoted to educate my students so they may successfully build a brighter future.

My Educational Philosophy

Many people say that they don't have musical talent or that they can't play music. I don't think that's true. What those people really are saying is, I haven't been taught how to play, I haven't had the chance to learn. Music is a wonderful language that is not limited to a gifted few. Rather, music is something that everybody can learn to do and enjoy.

I will provide students an environment to explore patterns, work through engaging tasks, and to learn to work flexibly with numbers. Mistakes are valued as an important part of the learning process. Rather than just delivering the information to students, I will ask questions and guide students to construct their own understanding. Students will collaborate and share ideas often. And hopefully they will have fun along the way.

My Education and Professional Background

I am a recent graduate from Northern Arizona University where I learned my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. While attending Northern Arizona University I had the oppurity to work with grade levels ranging from first through fourth. I student taught here at Hartford Sylvia Encinas Elementary on the first grade team. I loved it so much I didn't want to leave.

My Educational Philosophy

As a committed teacher, my goal is to create life longer learners. I want to share my passion for learning through whole group, small group, and indiviual activities. I believe every student can be a successful student with the right tools. I know it is my job to provide them with all the right tools in order to be successful not only in my classroom but all the classrooms to follow.
