I am excited to be apart of the Hartford Sylvia Encinas Elementary staff as a third grade teacher this coming school year. I am looking forward to working with you and your child. I believe our partnership will benefit us through the classroom community we create. Please contact me with any comments or questions.
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from Arizona State University in May of 2012 where I was an iTeachAZ teacher candidate in the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College. We were required to student teach for a full year under a mentor teacher's supervision and I completed that assignment in the Kyrene School District. I am highly qualified and SEI indorsed. Before earning my Elementary Education degree, I held several positions in the retail business forum as a department manager and regional trainer. I earned an Associates of Arts degree several years ago and decided in 2010 to return to college after being employed as a special needs paraprofessional in the Chandler Unified School District for three years. My last position was a sixth grade teacher for two years in Gilbert.
My Educational Philosophy
As a teacher, I get excited about the learning potential of each student. My goal is to assist every child to achieve success in their own ways of learning and to reach their full potential. Creating passion and excitement in regards to learning is important to me. I want to build a strong classroom community with trust, respect, and appreciation as the foundation.
