Hello and welcome to kindergarten! My name is Rebecca Crow and I am super excited to take over as your child's teacher this year at Patterson. My family and I recently moved to the area from the Chicago suburbs after my daughter graduated high school. I have loved being at Patterson since the start of second quarter, and have enjoyed working with the wonderful students, families, and faculty here at Patterson.
My Education and Professional Background
I received my BA in Elementary Education with a specialization in reading, and a minor in pscychology from The University of Iowa in 1993. I also received my M.A in 1999 from Saint Xavier University in Teaching and Leadership. I taught junior high Language Arts and Reading, was a Title One reading specialist for grades K-3, and taught first grade for several years. I spent 7 years staying home with my daughter, and returned to teaching as a long term substitute over the last 13 years. I have taught over 16 long term positions in all grade levels from kindergarten-6.
My Educational Philosophy
As a teacher, I believe that all children are capable of learning and success. I want my students to feel safe at school, be kind, become good citizens, and become lifetime learners. I look forward to doing everything I can to making this school year a great one for your children!
