    Welcome to Mrs Newell’s 7th Grade Mathematics Class. I am looking forward to an exciting year of exploring Mathematics with our incoming firebirds.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I graduated from ASU (Go DEVILS!) in Dec. 2014, with a Bachelors degree in Education. I have been at Willis since Feb. 2015!

    At home, I live with my husband, two daughters, and pup, Mila. My daughters, Teagan and Tatum, are both toddlers, so a lot of my free time is spent caring for them. We enjoy playing outside, going for walks, and enjoying family time.

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe learning takes place through interactive materials and lessons. I strive to make engaging activities for my students to partake in. I believe strongly in keeping notebooks throughout the year where students can store all notes, homework and classroom assignments in one place. The reason I chose to teach Math is because there is always an answer and many different ways to discover that answer.
