Welcome Casteel Colts! I'm so excited to be a part of Casteel's inaugural year. I look forward to seeing my students grow and all that they will accomplish this year.
My Education and Professional Background
I am a native of Arizona and a special educator at heart. I graduated from Arizona State University with a B.A. in Special Education, and returned to ASU to earn a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with emphasis in Autism Spectrum Disorders and Transition Plans for individuals with disabilities. I have taught special education in a variety of capacities over the past ten years, and have previously taught in the Mesa Public School district and Higley Unified Schools. I love working with the students and staff at Casteel and am proud to be a Colt!
My Educational Philosophy
Teachers who love teaching, teach children to love learning. I am passionate about my work, striving to set high standards for all students and provide them with a quality education. My desire is for students to graduate and become successful, productive adults within our community. I believe that collaboration and cooperation between the student, teacher, and parents are significant components to obtain this goal.
