  • Aloha,

Hello Perry!  My name is Scott Uyeshiro and I am currently serving as the Freshman and Juniors  Counselor with last names A-G.  This will be my 24th year in education!  I enjoy high school students, watching them mature from freshmen to seniors, helping them become more independent, and guiding them in their decision making. Watching this growth, and becoming part of that process as a counselor, is one of the most exciting and rewarding aspects of my job.  Counselors can play an important role in high school so please don’t hesitate to stop by and see me.

Just to let you know a little bit about myself, I grew up in Hawaii and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work/Behavior Science and Teaching certification at Concordia University in Portland, Oregon. I also received my Master’s Degree in Education with emphasis in Guidance Counseling through City University in Renton, Washington. I taught Elementary School for six years at Orchards Elementary School and was a High School Guidance Counselor for six years at Heritage High School in Vancouver, Washington.  After years of rain, rain, rain my wife and I decided we needed a change of scenery.  Now we’re living in sun, sun, sun and absolutely love it!!!  I’ve been a counselor at Basha High for two years, Perry High for seven, Arizona College Prep –Erie Campus for two, and now I’m back at Perry High School.

My family consists of my awesome wife and my amazing three daughters.  My hobbies consist of working out, golfing, and watching my kids play sports.

I look forward in working with the student body at Perry.  Please don’t hesitate to stop in and see me if you have any questions or concerns.

    Mahalo,

    Scott Uyeshiro
