    Welcome to ACP High School.

I am looking forward to getting to know all of you.

I hope to challenge you and make this year interesting and engaging.

    My Education and Professional Background

I have B.A. Degrees in History and Anthropology. My Master's is in Secondary Education. I am a Sun Devil all the way!

I also have a Fellowship from the University of Virginia and I have visited various historical sites in the United States. I lived in West Berlin during the Cold War and visited East Germany while the Wall was still up and active. I approach history from the perspective of why people did the things they did and the consequences of those actions, because human motivation is more interesting than just learning events and dates.

I have also worked in the private sector in restaurant and retail management, and have an extensive background in accounting and economics, so my approach to Economics is practical application.

    My Educational Philosophy

I believe that learning should be rewarding and relevant. Many of my assignments are PBL (Project Based Learning) because I feel that creating something is more meaningful than memorizing for a multiple choice test.
I use cooperative groups as well as individual assignments. My homework is optional and rewards-based.
I have one in-class work day each week and I try to keep my classroom stress free.
I value family, and believe in a balance between work and home, and I am flexible as long as you communicate with me and use class time wisely.
