Welcome to Ms. Kolacki's webpage! I am a Long Island native, spent 14 years teaching with Cecil County Public Schools in Maryland, and am now happy to call Arizona my home. I love being a member of the Wolf Pack and am looking forward to another terrific year with Chandler High!

My Education and Professional Background

I graduated from Washington College in Maryland with a Bachelor's Degree in English, Drama, and an Education Certification. I received my Master of Arts in Education from Gratz University in Pennsylvania. I attained my National Board Certification for Early Adolescent English Language Arts in 2006 and 2016.

My Educational Philosophy

First and foremost, I believe a teacher needs to set up an environment of acceptance and understanding within their classroom. Students need to feel that they are valued, cared about, and capable of success. By being open and honest, I establish a trustworthy rapport with students. Additionally, I believe it's important to set clear and concise expectations for students and model what these expectations look like. Teachers need to be fair and consistent when holding students accountable to th ese expectations and provide the opportunity for success. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, I hold high standards for my students in terms of academics AND citizenship and help them meet these standards. To me, helping students become better people and members of society is as important as helping students become better learners.
