About
Haenchen...
Welcome to 2nd Grade! This will be my 6th year at Hancock but my 10th year teaching. I absolutely love teaching 2nd grade and I look forward to a fun filled year of learning!
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. Go Jayhawks! After a year working on my master's adaptive special education endorsement, I moved to Tucson to begin my teaching career. I worked in the Marana School District for 4 years. I started out teaching Kindergarten for two years and then moved up to Second Grade for two years. After my husband finished school at The University of Arizona, he got a job which brought us to Chandler. Hancock is a great school and I am excited to be here!
My Educational Philosophy
A teacher's role should be to help guide children in meaningful and engaging learning experiences by providing them with the skills they need in order to reach their ultimate potential and facilitate a love of learning.
