Welcome to 8th grade Social Studies! I am looking forward to an exciting year of exploration, challenges, and risk taking in our classroom.
My Education and Professional Background
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education from Northern Arizona University and my Master of Education from Kennesaw State University. I am currently working on my Master of Education in Educational Leadership - Principal K-12 at NAU. I began my career here in Arizona and have spent the past few years teaching in Atlanta, Georgia. I am happy to be back in Chandler where I plan to stay.
My Educational Philosophy
My philosophy as a social studies teacher is that history is not just dates and wars but also people, their lives and their decisions; history is real and relevant. I want students to read critically, to write clearly, and to have inquiring and open minds.
