About Mrs. Hattaway...
Welcome to Auxier! I am excited to be a part of the special education team here at Auxier. This is my 5th year teaching here and I absolutely love to see my students grow and learn every day. My husband and I have 2 boys. Josh is a sophomore at NAU and Justin is a freshman at Casteel. When I am not at school, I enjoy traveling, baking, and spending time with family and friends.
My Education and Professional Background
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Education from Western Washington University in 1997. I have a Post Baccalaureate Degree in Special Education with an Endorsement in Structured English Immersion. I have worked in the Chandler Unified School District for the past 9 years. Prior to this, I was a substitute teacher in several local school districts.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that all students have special gifts inside of them. It is my job to unleash these gifts in a safe, positive environment.
