Welcome Basha Bears! I teach Self-Contained Special Education for 9th-12th grade students. I am extremely thrilled to be here at Basha, for there are many exciting opportunities happening this 2016-2017 school year. Our class will be given the opportunity to learn in the classroom as well as the community. We encourage all students and families to be apart of the many Unified Sports here at Basha which includes; football, basketball, track, soccer and cheer!
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Speech and Hearing in May 2014. After graduating, I went straight into a Master's program at ASU for Special Education. In December 2015, I obtained my Master's with a dual certification in Special Education and Elementary Education. I also hold a Speech-Language Pathology Assistance Certification and I have worked as an SLPA. I taught resource K-8 prior to coming to Basha High School.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that every child can learn. Not every child learns at the same speed or in the same way, however; it is our job as a team (parents/guardians, students and teachers) to not be afraid to make changes and adaptations so that every student is given the opportunity to succeed. My hope is for my students and their families to feel like there is continuous progress being made in both classroom and life skills. I also believe in open communication amongst parents, students and teachers. I truly want us to feel like a team and continue to be on the same page at all times.
