About
Asad...
Welcome to fourth grade! I am excited to get to know you and what you like to learn about. We will have a great year as we explore all the awesome topics that fourth graders get to learn about-such as our great state of Arizona, electricity and magnetism, fractions (yay!) and writing more and more informative writing. I have lived in Chandler for 20 years, and just love it here. My favorite activity is spending time with my family. I have three children.
My Education and Professional Background
This will be my third year at CTA Independence. I have also taught in Kyrene School District, Rancho Solano, Sacaton district on the Gila River Indian community, and GEMS American Academy in Abu Dhabi. I earned my BFA at Bowling Green State University in 1995, and my Post-Bac teacher certification from University of Phoenix in 2000. I have my Structured English Immersion endorsement, and am currently working on endorsements for Gifted Education and Early Childhood Education. I love to learn, and am looking forward to working on my Masters degree once my children are a little older.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that students learn best in a safe and rigorous environment. I challenge my students to always do their best, and am happy to invest extra time helping students who need more challenging work or to review a topic that they don't understand. I highly value character education, and want my students to be both smarter and better humans when they leave my classroom.
