Welcome!

HELLO! I am Mrs. Cox, born and raised as a military child (AFB) spending most of my upbringing in southern California. Just this summer I relocated from Daphne, AL back to Chandler, AZ (So happy to be back)! I began my teaching career in CUSD, building upon the Sports Medicine Program at Hamilton High from 2012-2016 before following my calling to Daphne, AL. During my time in Daphne I developed and implemented the FIRST ever Sports Medicine Program for the county that is steadily thriving!

My Education and Professional Background

I have earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from the University of Tampa and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, with a minor concentration in Methods and Curriculum from Concordia University, Portland. Currently, I am a capstone course away from beginning my research and dissertation phase of my doctoral degree as a Sport & Performance Psychology Consultant at the University of the Rockies. As an Athletic Trainer I have acquired a variety of experiences from the high school, collegiate, and the professional sports settings. My experiences have included (but not limited to) working for the team physician for the Tampa Bay Lightning, the NFL Europe Amsterdam Admirals organization (before the league was dismantled), Division II World Series Championship Baseball team, and USA Baseball. This is my fifth year of teaching Sports Medicine and my FIRST year for the Casteel High CTE.

My Educational Philosophy

My educational philosophy is that EVERY student has the RIGHT to learn in safe and nurturing environment! Question EVERYTHING! Learning should be fun and should be diverse to meet and exceed the various learning styles of the students. Therefore, I learn about my students to provide an effective learning experience. EDUCATIONAL GOAL: Applying "real-world" knowledge/content in "real-world" settings.
