My Education and Professional Background
HELLO! I am Mrs. Cox, born and raised as a military child (AFB) spending most of my upbringing in southern California. I have earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from the University of Tampa and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, with a minor concentration in Methods and Curriculum from Concordia University, Portland. Currently, I am nearing the conclusion of my doctoral degree in Sport & Performance Psychology at Ashford University. As an Athletic Trainer, I have acquired a variety of experiences from the high school, collegiate, and the professional athletic settings. My experiences have included, (but are not limited to), working for the team physician for the Tampa Bay Lightning, the NFL Europe Amsterdam Admirals organization (before the league was dismantled), Division II World Series Championship Baseball team, and USA Baseball.
My Educational Philosophy
My educational philosophy is to create a classroom culture in which ALL students, feel safe (SafeSpace), respected, and valued. I strive to foster a culturally and ethically inclusive environment. When students are SEEN, they will academically THRIVE! My teaching style is to teach the same lesson, various ways, to meet the needs of my student’s diverse learning styles. Therefore, building a relationship with each student is a PRIORITY to prepare these Future Leaders. I truly enjoy teaching for the Career & Technical Education (CTE) department of Casteel High. Furthermore, I am an active member of our Deep Equity cohort, (site & district), as well as the HOSA Club sponsor. I am excited to advise this student-led organization of Future Health Care Professionals in preparation to meet the needs of our diverse world. I look forward to a successful school year. GO COLTS!!!
