Hello and welcome to math, my name is Brittney Smith. I am an Arizona native that grew up here in Chandler. In 2017 I earned my bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University. In March 2020, I furthered my education by completing my master's degree in mathematics from GCU. This is my 5th year of teaching with the Chandler Unified School District, and I am proud to represent the Perry Pumas! I love teaching and am passionate about helping students understand important math concepts, which facilitate them to become strong problem solvers, and strengthen their reasoning and logic skills. When I am not teaching, I enjoy cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. I look forward to getting to know you and helping you work towards your academic goals in mathematics! Good luck, and I hope you enjoy my class!
    My Educational and Professional Background:
I graduated from Grand Canyon University in 2017 with a bachelors degree in secondary education and a master's degree in mathematics from GCU in 2020.  Go Lopes!
    My Educational Philosophy:
I believe that every student has the ability to be successful. The most valuable part of the learning experiences is being able to come back from mistakes with a more enhanced understanding of the material, and perseverance when facing a difficult concept or subject.  More than anything, it is imperative that you advocate for yourself.  I also believe learning how to ask for help when you need it, and building on skills such as time management and communication is incredibly important in math and experiences beyond your high school experience.
