    Welcome!

Hello and welcome to math, my name is Miss Smith. I am an Arizona native that grew up here in Chandler. In 2017 I earned my bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University. In March 2020, I furthered my education by completing my master's degree in mathematics from GCU. This is my 4th year of teaching with the Chandler Unified School District. My home school is Perry High School, but I am also teaching a section at Chandler Online Academy this year. I enjoy teaching due to my passion for helping students understand important math concepts, which facilitate them to become strong problem solvers, and strengthen their reasoning and logic skills. When I am not teaching, I enjoy cooking, traveling, creating art, and spending time with family and friends. I look forward to getting to know you and helping you work towards your academic goals in mathematics! Good luck, and I hope you enjoy my class!

    My Educational and Professional Background:

I graduated from Grand Canyon University in 2017 with a bachelors degree in secondary education and a master's degree in mathematics from GCU in 2020.  Go Lopes!

    My Educational Philosophy:

I believe that every student has the ability to be successful. The most valuable part of the learning experiences is being able to come back from mistakes with a more enhanced understanding of the material, and perseverance when facing a difficult concept or subject.
