Welcome!

Welcome to ELD (English Language Development)!!

My Education and Professional Background

My name is Monique Moreno. I was born and raised in Tempe, Arizona. I graduated with my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education in 2008 along with my teaching certification from Northern Arizona University. In 2010, I graduated with my Masters in Education from NAU as well. In 2012, I graduated from Arizona State University with a Masters in Geographical Education. I taught ELD third grade for eight years in the Tempe School District. After having my second daughter, I taught high school History part time. I am currently pursuing my National Boards Certification in the area of English as a New Language. I am a mother of three little girls ages 9 years old, 3 years old and a newborn baby girl. I am dedicated to my family as well as my work that I provide for all my students. I couldn’t be happier about being an Independence Hawk and look forward to working with all students.

My Educational Philosophy

My personal philosophy about teaching is I truly believe ALL students can learn ALL the time. I am a life-long learner and I make sure to apply my knowledge and skills in my everyday teaching for student success. I have worked with a variety of students for about 11 years. I love learning about new cultures, and provide high expectations into my lessons as well as learning life skills in the process. I am a huge believer in RESPECT. I will always respect my students, their learning needs and academic growth in all subjects. In return, I expect the same from my students so we can learn together, grow together, and succeed together. I am here as a supporter for all students, teachers and parents. I am excited to be a part of the CTA Independence family!
