• National Chinese Honor Society inducts every spring.  Students must have completed three semesters of Chinese, must fill out an application, and must have a 3.0 average in both Mandarin classes and cummulative GPA.  Applications are available through Mandarin classes in January of each year.  Seniors in National Chinese Honor Society should see Ms. Pederson in February of each year for cord ordering information.  

     

    For Casteel students:  

    To receive a Casteel letter in National Chinese Honor Society, a student must:

    1. Be in 9th-12th grade and complete an application for a letter

    2. Be currently enrolled in a Mandarin course

    3. Have a GPA of 3.75 (unweighted) in all Mandarin courses

    4. Have a weighted cumulative GPA of 3.75 in all courses

    5. Be an inducted member of National Chinese Honor Society

    6. Complete 5.5 hours of service

    7. Lead one or more club activities for National Chinese Honor Society or Chinese Club

    To receive a pin in National Chinese Honor Society, a student must:

    1. Have received a letter for NCHS in a previous year

    2. Be in 10th-12th grade and complete an application

    3. Have a GPA of 3.75 (unweighted) in all Mandarin courses

    4. Have a weighted cumulative GPA of 3.75 in all courses

    5. Lead a club activity for National Chinese Honor Society or Chinese Club

    To receive a graduation cord in National Chinese Honor Society, a student must:

    1. Be in 12th grade and complete an application for a cord

    2. Have a GPA of 3.75 (unweighted) in all Mandarin courses

    3. Have a weighted cumulative GPA of 3.75 in all courses

    4. Be an inducted member of National Chinese Honor Society

    5. Have completed 5.5 hours of service
